Getting Started with Google Adsense

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

There are many ways in which you can monetize your website, the most common is to use Google adsense. This is a pay per click company so the aim is to generate as much traffic as you can and if someone was to click an advertisement you will get paid. They often have great payouts on a monthly basis direct to your bank account or by cheque.

You have to make sure you follow their terms and conditions very carefully as you are only allowed one account per person, if you get banned your sites will be blacklisted making them hard to sell in the future. If you follow them you will have no problem and always be sure to report any unusual activity to Google.

Although it is very tempting you must never click your own advertisements or ask anyone else to click them hoping Google won’t notice. They will notice when they come to reviewing your account before you reach the $100 threshold and your account will be terminated and any earnings will be returned to the rightful owners (Google adwords advertisers). This means you will have wasted all your time and effort into making the website and cut out a vital stream of income.

Be sure to do your research to ensure that the payment per click is reasonable as for niches such as gaming its really low compared to niches such as finance and mortgages. The big mistake that many people do is to chase the high paying keywords, these niches are too saturated so the competition is really hard. You are best trying to find an undeveloped niche in which you can take full advantage of.

You can tweak your website in order to get the maximum potential out of it by moving your advertisements around to find the best layout. There is a hotspot image in the Google adsense website which will give you a good idea where the average browser will look and click. Place your ads in there and hopefully you will see the return.

Once you have found the best layout for your site through trial and error you need to get ranked high for your keywords to bring in huge amounts of traffic hopefully converting into a click.

Pushing Your AdSense Revenues Beyond the Max!

Friday, November 7th, 2008

I’m pretty happy with where I am now with AdSense. I’ve put a lot of effort into figuring out what works and what doesn’t and I’m pretty sure that my sites are generating as much revenue as possible.

Sure, there are always a few little tweaks I can do here and there, especially when I update my sites, but nothing on the scale of when I was just starting out and had no idea which positions or which colors would bring the most clicks.

Those were pretty exciting days and sometimes I miss them. (Although I don’t miss the small checks.) I’d make a change to the ads, wait a week and check my stats. Sometimes the difference could be as much as several hundred percentage points — and several thousand dollars. Very few of the changes I make these days have effects as exciting as that!

I’m sure lots of experienced AdSense publishers are in a similar position: you’ve spent hours rearranging your ads, you think you’re earning as much as you can… so what do you do now?

Well, there’s lots to do now. It doesn’t matter how much you’re earning or how well you’ve planned your website you still have to keep track of your stats and try to figure out new ways to increase your revenue sources.

The first thing you have to do is ensure that any updates you put on your site don’t bring your CTR down. That can happen, especially when you bring in new keywords.

But you can also start creating new sites, adding new pages and even playing with new designs. If you have a website about computer games for example, and you notice that ads about first-person-shooters get more clicks and higher CPM’s than ads about adventure games, you could create an entire site devoted to first-person-shooters.

The same thing might happen when you’re writing your blog. If you noticed that you picked up lots of clicks on high-paying ads when you talked about offensive language on television then you could set up an entire site on that subject, spread the word and cash in.

As long as the content you create is genuinely interesting, there’s no reason for you not to use the results you see on your stats to create more sources of revenue.

Think you’re done when your site is doing its best? Think again.

Affiliate Marketing - The Simplest and Surest Way to Make Money Online

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Affiliate marketing is the simplest and easiest way to make money on the internet because all you have to do is drive hungry buyers to a merchant’s website. The merchant does everything else. You don’t have to pack anything or ship anything. All you have to do is cash your commission check.

Hundreds of people are making thousands of dollars every month through affiliate marketing. Indeed, many affiliate marketers have become millionaires. A lady named Rosalind Gardiner quit her job as an air traffic controller in the late nineties because the stress was really getting to her. She looked around for another way of earning a living and she stumbled onto affiliate marketing. She could see the potential right away. Today she is a happy millionaire who no longer has to worry about such a miserable thing as “earning a living”. She just cashes her nice fat checks!

Even teenagers are becoming affiliate marketers. Carl Ocab in the Philippines and David Wilkinson in the UK, to name two, are earning thousands every month selling other peoples’ stuff. As Carl says, “If a kid can do it, why can’t you?”

Most merchants nowadays use affiliate marketers…even Walmart! It costs you nothing to become an affiliate. A lot of affiliate marketers don’t even have a website; they drive the traffic by placing ads, both offline and online. When someone answers an ad, they land right on the merchant’s website. If the person buys, you get a commission check. What could be easier!

Don’t you want some of those nice fat commission checks? After all, some former carpet installers and window washers are now millionaires, lolling on beaches in the tropics, thanks to affiliate marketing. As long as they’ve got a laptop and an internet connection, they can “work” anywhere in the world. And I guess you’ve heard of “direct deposit”? So, Google “affiliate marketing” and get started right away! See you on the beach…

How You Should Approach Your Home Business

Cashflow vs. AdSense - Get Paid Now!

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

We all know that if we keep at this blogging thing, we are going to be making some real money in about eighteen months. Our creditors can’t wait that long, with the possible exception of your local cheap-ass furniture store, where there are No Payments, No Interest ‘Til 2007! So, in order to keep the lights on and the water running, here are some ideas for getting some cash flowing into your coffers:

If you have a website, promote the tools that make the site work. If you don’t have a site, you can use the referer links provided by your affiliate partners. Place them in your blog, and give a testimonial about the wonderful products that enhance your computer!

Your Ad Here

This can pay for your monthly web hosting fees! Create spaces on your web pages for advertisers. Negotiate a monthly fee that’s large enough to pay your own monthly fees, plus put a bit of change in your pocket. Don’t limit yourself to online advertisers; shop the idea to local retailers where you do business.
If you don’t have a web site yet, this might be a good reason to get one!

Middle of the Road

This happens all around you, every day: someone brings a buyer and seller together and collects a brokering fee. You can do this offline as well as online. The secret to this cash stream is to have a stable database of providers and a growing opt-in list of consumers. Dozens of books go into detail about how to create these lists and databases, so just look at this as a suggestion:

Let’s say you intend to bring together web site designers and clients who need a web site. First, establish a business relationship with two or three free-lancers and work out your “cut”. Next, advertise your service. As consumers begin contacting you and deals are sealed, ask for referrals and testimonials. If things go well, your consumer list will outstrip your provider database. At that point, you begin showcasing your service from the perspective of free-lance web designers! Tell them you have hundreds of clients desperately seeking professional web sites. Explain your fee structure and recruit as many as you need to balance your lists. Once this is going well, you can sell other related products and services to your client list.

eBay Store

I had both an eBay and a PayPal account long before I decided to sell an antique bathroom sink. Once the auction was over, however, I didn’t use either account until I was encouraged to open a Store to sell board games. This is potentially the best cash stream available, outside of AdSense revenue. A basic store costs 15.95 per month and each item can be listed for .02 per month. You probably want to partner with a drop-shipper, because you won’t have to have a garage full of inventory. Don’t let your eBay account sit idly!

Cash Flow 101

Whether you try one of these ideas or all of them, keep reading and learning. You’ll come up with even more ways to build cash flow!

Affiliate Marketing Facts - 2 Benefits Of Building Your Own Lead List

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Listing building is an important component of a successful affiliate marketing business model. You will not have a long term internet business if you are not building your own customer database. This article will explain the 2 benefits that you will have if you have put in the time and effort to build your own profitable customer database.

The 1st benefit is that the potential customer will interact with you first before going to your directly to your merchant. This will make sure that you will be able to let the customer knows the benefits that he is going to get from you before he even goes to the merchant’s page. You will be able to firstly brand yourself so that your customer can understand you better and they will know that you are the person that recommends the product to them.

The 2nd benefit is you will have more control over the customer’s opinion towards the affiliate products that you are promoting. This is very important when you know that the affiliate product that you are going to promote is going to help your customer but the merchant’s sales letter does not have a good conversion. You will be able to presell them the product and let your customer know the true value of the affiliate product. There are quite a number of good affiliate products with poor sales letter, thus it is important that you build your list.

These are the 2 benefits that you will gain if you have put in the time and effort into building your own lead list. If you are just starting out in your affiliate marketing business, please make sure that you start your first day of your business by having a opt in mechanism so that you can start building your list on the first day of business.
